| "Three years ago I wanted to start a real estate company," admits the
Fray's Joe King on the band's website. Had it not been for his chance
meeting with old schoolmate Issac Slade in a Denver music store in 2002 he
may well have been writing up contracts rather than lyrics by now, but
instead the two fell to composing around their (then) eccentric
piano guitar vocals set up. Bolstered by the rhythm section of Ben Wysocki
and Dave Welsh the four piece hit the Mile High City's live scene, their
brand of emotionally conscious, dynamic songwriting immediately striking a
chord. Then, in 2004, local radio station KTCL picked up on a demo version
of "Over My Head (Cable Car)", which duly garnered 'most played' status,
prompting Epic to offer them a deal the first fruits of which being How
To Save A Life.
